Looking at Old Posts

Remember this thing? Just reading through it makes me cringe. Giving you a little background on it might help both of us understand my intentions, though.

I was in 7th grade, and didn’t fit in anywhere. I was bullied for years, and my friend (who is still my friend as we enter our Junior year in High School) was hanging out with someone who was rude to me. What I didn’t know, was that my friend has this habit of trying to fix people who don’t want to be fixed. I actually ended up being friends with her as well. We were in the same Spanish II class this year.

I Will Go Down With This Ship.

In an attempt to educate the Internet about the things that really matter, Kat continues her annual fanfiction discussion. This time, however; she’s changing it up a bit, focusing solely on shipping. Yes, this year she’s talking about taking a luxury cruise.

…If only.

There’s Only Three Days Left in This Semester and I’m Like:

My sister and I have broken out the Michael Buble Christmas albums and the gingerbread scented candle. There is no turning back now. All I have to do is wrap presents, all while making sure the cat doesn’t eat any leftover ribbon.

I love decorating Christmas cookies, and having several different colored frostings along with weird sprinkles is more exiting to me, a sixteen year old with semi-adult responsibilities, than it was to my five year old self.  I was also directed to this adorable little Portal themed comic.

I’ve finished my Christmas concerts, I’m ready to do special traditions without having to worry about grades. Which reset at the start of a new semester, much to the relief of the 50% of the school that happen to be failing. I get to make geometric ornaments in AP Geometry, and learn traditional holiday recipes in Spanish II. In high school, semester exams aren’t mandatory for everyone. Unless you’re failing, or have a certain amount of absences, you’re free. Of course, you can still take them by choice if you’d prefer a higher grade than the one you have.

Since none of my friends have to take semesters either, this usually means that, while everyone else crams for their lives, we’re in the back singing Christmas songs. I’m not joking, we got in trouble for singing Last Christmas during “study time”.

My Life is Super Glamorous…

I’m honestly surprised no one sent out a search party, considering the fact I haven’t interacted with anyone in almost five months.  A lot of things have been going on, like:

  • I got contacts. So much better than glasses. The cat cat can smash her tiny little nose against my face until she drops dead, and I can still see clearly.
  • I got a new cat a few months ago, which made me very happy. ❤️ I found her on my porch, and almost cried. Mainly because I’m a pretty emotional person, but also because I found her under the same circumstances I found Cookeh six years ago.

I didn’t even empty the bag, I turned around and there she was. Also, our ugly patterned couch. Bask in its hideousness.

(In case you’re wondering why her eyes look a little funky, this is caused by her partial blindness. She gets around pretty well using her other senses, and seems to enjoy finding boxes and shopping bags.)

The one person whose presence I literally cannot stand, is taking advantage of my friends. Not to mention she whines all the freaking time, and doesn’t accept compliments like a gracious person, and instead chooses to say “I know.” Luckily my parents taught me how to act like a well mannered human being, otherwise I would trash her shiny, new 2015 Mustang, and proceed to light it on fire to finish the job. Psychotic ranting aside, I’m pretty freaking ticked. Doesn’t help that I have a majority of my classes with her…

  • I had my 16th birthday a few weeks ago. Do I have my driver’s license? No, because I can’t seem to pass my freaking driver’s test. My instructor must have a different definition for the meaning of ‘dangerous action’, considering the fact this is the only thing keeping me from passing. I’m really not that bad of a driver. I mean, she gave people who really shouldn’t be on the road a passing grade, so where’s mine? (Actually, they’ll probably end up living in their cars, so this decision was most likely made out of sympathy.)
  • I got my ears pierced again. I have three lobe piercings now. Apparently having a blunt object stabbed through my vulnerable flesh twice isn’t good enough.

Play auditions are in two weeks. Here at my crappy little high school, we alternate between plays and musicals every other year. I still haven’t picked a part or song to audition with. Problem is, I can’t sing in front of people without freaking out, and end up having to practice the same type of relaxed breathing I use in yoga to convince my brain that, no, I’m not going to die. It works, I guess.

I really want to get over this fear, though. Believe it or not, laying face down in my snowflake panties, reading trashy Portal fanfictions, though it sounds very productive and glamorous, is not how I want to spend my time. This most likely isn’t going to happen if a potato can interact with people better than I can. My life is a one-way ticket to that cat lady who will never leave her house. You can order everything online these days, anyway.

I’m making my older sister play Portal 2. She has no idea what she’s doing, but seems to like a few of the characters.

…At some point she yelled “Give me back my potato!”, and proceeded to talk about how she had “bonded with her over the moron while we were falling”.

I’m also pretty excited about Christmas, my sister bought me a Dan and Phil advent calendar. I should get “a chocolate and a funny picture” every day until the 25th. Of course I haven’t opened it, since it’s not the first of December. We put up the tree at my grandma’s house yesterday. I’m finally tall enough to put the angel at the top, by the way. Heck yes.

We don’t have a very big tree, since Cookeh took the liberty of climbing it her very first Christmas, and we’re sure my new cat will do the same. I did end up making her a stocking, since I didn’t want to use Cookeh’s old one. Or look at it, knowing it’ll never be filled again. Wow, that got depressing quickly.  I’m one of the strange few that gets her cats presents. It’s usually fun toys like little plastic mice and a sack of treats, or a little collar with a bell on it because those are exciting.

Since I have an essay I haven’t gotten very far on, I should probably leave for another five months now.

~Kat ❤️

• Just wanted to let you know that I’m way better today. I’m still upset about Cookeh, (It’s a bit weird around here without her. I still catch myself looking for her in her favorite places when I wake up.), but I’ve been keeping myself busy with guitar, and an attempt at making friendship bracelets and music mixes for my friends. I suck at everything except knowing what kind of music my friends are into, thanks for wondering.

• Anyway, I’d like to thank everyone for their sympathy, and your strange ability to somehow tolerate me while I was incredibly tired and emotional. It helped more than you think. ❤️

Billboard Music Awards Fashion Review

I’m on time with this one! Finally.

I didn’t see all of it, as I just stuck around for the people I wanted to see, but dang all those dresses were gorgeous. These are the ones I saw.

Prepare yourselves for vague descriptions. Mainly dresses and hair, Justin Timberlake’s very nice face is somewhere in here, though.

Purple divider dark

  • Kesha. (Probably playing favorites as I write this, but come on.)

Dark gray+black lacy accents= Really freaking gorgeous.

Obligatory side view of hair.

It also had a pretty bow on the back!

Purple divider dark

  • Shakira, Shakira

A gorgeous color blue with sheer-like sleeves and sides. Her hair also falls beautifully over one of her shoulders.

From the side.

Here’s one of her performance outfit, her soccer-playing boyfriend/lover (Gerard Pique), and some PDA.

  • Lorde. I don’t want to be too harsh because she probably spent hours in hair/makeup, and that dress (no matter how ugly) is probably worth more than my entire wardrobe. Underwear and shoes included.

Dear Lorde. (Pardon the pun.)

Her performance outfit was much better.

Her hair didn’t look wet, nor was she all feathery. Hat was kind of cute. Very good at live singing.

Not from the show, but I think she’s prettier with her natural hair and very little makeup. She did show me that pale brunettes (much like ourselves) can wear purple lipstick and look okay, though.

  • Jordin Sparks.

Little black, sparkly halter-top dress. If this were in my size, I would go steal it. Very cute ponytail with little cornrow-ish braids at the top.

Your view from the side. Cute little orange clutch.

Purple divider dark

  • Nicki Minaj

Built in side view. Pretty sure they had to tape her in the top of her dress, but she looked nice, anyway.

Other side view. Love that bracelet.

Purple divider dark

  • Justin Timberlake. (I don’t care if he wasn’t actually there, he has a very nice face.)

“As long as I got my suit and tie.” (And a very attractive face.) Crew also looks good in their suits.

Last, but not least, my favorite sassy, county-singing ladies:

  • Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.

On the red carpet. Both have gorgeous dresses. (I’d take Carrie’s if it weren’t yellow.)

Performance. Loved Miranda’s leather jacket and Carrie’s jewelry.

I just love giving you side views.

I couldn’t find any cute Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton pictures(Actually, I couldn’t find any at all.), and this made me very sad.

I also watched Katy Perry perfom Birthday.

I should go eat and finish my Math homework because both are necessary for life.  Also, it’s my last week of school. 4 days left of my Freshman year.  It went by pretty fast, I can’t believe it.

Screwed Up Wrist.

Slow clap for me typing this with my left hand. So glad we have autocorrect…

Anyway, my right wrist is kind of giving me a lot of trouble. I’ve had slight problems with it for a few years, but now there’s a knot on it, it’s stiff, and it keeps locking up on me, especially while I’m playing instruments or writing. (Which is pretty much all I do at school.) I don’t even remember doing anything to it, either.

I’ve been stuck wearing a brace for the past few days, and this doesn’t seem to be working. I have a concert Sunday, and if I don’t get better by then; I’m screwed. I can play my parts really well, but now it’s impossible without pain.

What even is this brace, though? I’ve never seen anything like it. Also, my fingernails unintentionally match?

In better news, I got a haircut. I just got dry ends trimmed off because they had a gross, straw-like feeling to them. I want to grow it out again because my younger self was stupid, and decided to get it copped off to the chin (It was a terrible fashion choice, and I still regret it. My older sister, on the other hand, looks great with the style).

That’s pretty much my week, hopefully yours is going better.
